To all of you “end of the decade” reviewers: You still have another YEAR before the decade is over!

Think about it: go back to the reference point for our current year counting system. What was the first year? Was it the year zero? (The answer here is NO in case you are unclear on the matter). No, that’s right, it was the year 1. And the tenth year–and I’ll do the math here for you–was the year 10.

Make sense?

So the first decade ended with the year 10. That means–and I hope this isn’t too much of a stretch–the second decade ended with the year 20. Then 30..40..50..all the way up to 1990 and 2000.

And, yes, the current decade does not end until the end of the year 2010.

So please put away your decade reviews, at least for another year.

Unless of course you are listing this site as one of the best blogs of the decade, in which case I will gratefully accept the accolades.

So here I am. I have a new job. And I must say, so far it has been great. Kinda makes the cynical side of me wonder what I am missing right now. When will the ‘grand shoe of reality’ drop ignominiously on top of me?

By the way,  google translation assures me that la chaussure grand de la réalité is the French for the phrase: grand shoe of reality. Just thought I’d letcha know that…

You don’t know how happy it makes me to have a new Taco Bell opening up right here in the town in which I work. Somehow the last one that was here went out of business–hard to believe with the constant out-the-door lines that the new store has been generating.

Now I know why she broke up with me! I’ve always been a major believer that the major gift-giving holidays (Christmas, Valentine’s Day, birthday) are great litmis tests of relationships. As one of these holidays approaches, a person in a relationship has to think to him/herself “Is so-and-so really worth $150?” (or whatever it is you generally spend at these times) And if the answer is “ahhh, probably not” in all likelihood the person will end the relationship just before the holiday.

But, anyway, I just heard about a new holiday that is tomorrow, March 14th, and it sure as hell explains a lot to me. At any rate guys, I hope you have an enjoyable holiday tomorrow! I’ll be rooting for your relationships!
